After breakfast at the hotel, our guide will pick you up and take you to visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Known as “the Eighth Wonder of the World” and the most significant archaeological excavations of the 20th century, the Terracotta Warrior and Horses provide a large number of collections of life-size terracotta soldiers and horses, ancient weapons and chariots made 2,000 years ago for admiration.

After that, you will have free time for exploration at Xian by your own. If you need some advice, you may ask our guide.

After dinner, our guide will transfer you back to the hotel.

Lanzhou-Dunhuang

The first attraction to visit in Lanzhou will be Xiguan Mosque today. The Xiguan Mosque was constructed during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Architectures of the Xiguan Mosque are of strong Islamic styles but have also combined Chinese traditional art. Xiguan Mosque is an important place for local Lanzhou Muslims to do prayers and attend religious activities.

Next we will proceed to visit Waterwheel Park. The park is located along Yellow River. Waterwheel Park is consisted of two waterwheels, a cofferdam, the recreation area and a house of water mill. The two traditional waterwheels are the main attraction in the park. They were used to irrigate farmlands around Lanzhou and now they are historical exhibitions in the park.

After dinner, our guide will bring you to the railway station and you will take an overnight train with soft-sleeper to Dunhuang.

Dunhuang-Hami

When you arrived in Dunhuang, our local guide will meet you at the railway station and transfer you to the hotel for breakfast. After lunch, our guide will take you to do prayers at Dunhuang Mosque.

Next our guide will take you to visit Echoing-Sand Mountain. Echoing Sand Mountain is a famous scenic spots in Dunhuang. With the pale golden color, these dunes are huge and some measures about hundred meters while most of them are rather stable in shape though the dunes shift recurrently. When breezes come, the sand produces gentle and dulcet sounds just like beautiful music. This is how the mountain gets its name. Here you will enjoy the fun of riding camel and sand-sliding.

Then we will go to appreciate the stunning sight of Crescent Spring. The Crescent Spring is located 5 kilometers southwest of Dunhuang and is famous as one of the “Eight Scenes of Dunhuang”. It is also known as the “first lake in the desert”. Surrounded by sand mountains, the Crescent Spring has a beautiful oasis with traditional Chinese architecture.

After dinner, our guide will transfer you to Hami and help you check in at local hotel.

Hami-Turpan

After breakfast, our guide will drive you to Turpan. The first attraction to see at Turpan will be Jiaohe Ruins. The Jiaohe ruins is located 10 kilometers west of Turpan atop of a 30 meters steep cliff. The shape of the ruins is like a willow leaf and is surrounded by water. It used to be the capital of the Cheshibu Kingdom, which was dated back to 2000-2300 years ago. The Jiaohe Ruins is the oldest, biggest and the most well-preserved mud building city in the world. With its unique and interesting constructions, and historical and cultural values, this earthen castle Jiaohe Ruins attracts numerous tourists there.

Next we will proceed to visit Karez well system. The karez well system was constructed by ancient people about 2,000 years ago. It is made up of wells, dams, underground canals and reservoirs in order to store water and control water flow. This great well system was constructed according to the local hot and dry climate, and has made great contribution to the prosperity of Turpan. Reputed as “the underground Great Wall”, the karez well system is a result of local people’s intelligence and wisdom.

Then we will head to visit the famous Suleiman Minaret. The Suleiman Minaret is also known as Sugong Tower. It is located 2 kilometers east of Turpan. The tower was built in 1778 and now has a long history. Sugong Tower is the largest ancient tower in Xinjiang. The tower was constructed with steel-grey bricks into the unique Islamic style, also its construction has blended the excellent traditional architectural art of Uighur. Now the Sugong Tower is a popular tourist attraction for tourists, especially for Muslim tourists because of its noted architecture of Islamic art and being the only Islamic architectural tower in China.

After dinner, our guide will take you to the hotel for check in.

Today, your exploration at Kashgar will begin with a visit to the famous Id Kah Mosque. Id Kah Mosque is located on the central square of Kashgar city. It is one of the biggest mosques in China. The mosque is a group of old Islamic constructions with strong ethnic style and religious features. The whole complex consists of the courtyard, the Hall of Prayer, and the gate tower and some other attached structures. The Id Kah is a large center for religious activities for Xinjiang Muslims.

Next we will proceed to visit Afaq Khoja Mausoleum. Afaq Khoja Mausoleum is located in Haohan Village which is about 5 kilometers northeast from the center of Kashgar City. The mausoleum was first built in 1640. It is the tombs for seven decades family members from the Afaq family. While this mausoleum is also known as Xiangfei’s tomb, aka the “Fragrant Concubine”, as Xiangfei’s remains was buried here. She was the granddaughter of Afaq Khoja and was forced into a marriage with the Qing Dynasty Emperor Qianong. The Afaq Khoja Mausoleum is constructed to stand peacefully in the midst of poplars and pines. This mausoleum is outstandingly featured with delicate and exquisite Islamic style. Consisted of the Tomb’s Hall, the Doctrine Teaching Hall, the Grand Mosque and the Gate Tower, this elegant and magnificent complex attracts tourists here for the appreciation of its buildings. The Grand Mosque here is a popular place for Muslims doing prayers and other activities on important days.

Afterwards, our guide will transfer you to Urumqi Airport. Then you will take the flight to Xian. Our guide in Xian will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the hotel for check in.
