As the transportation hub in southwestern China, Chengdu has very convenient transportation network in air, train, and road. The Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport in is one of the busiest airport in China even in the world, and Chengdu Railway Station is the largest railway station in southwestern China as well as one of the six largest railway stations in China.

Air

Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is located in the northern part of Shuangliu County, about 16 kilometers away from Chengdu center. The airport is the busiest airport in central and western China, and is also the fourth largest airport hub in China after airports in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. Currently the Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport has opened up 222 airlines with flights to 105 domestic cities and flights to 62 foreign countries and regions. Since 1st September, 2013, Chengdu has a 72 hour visa free policy for tourists from 45 countries.


Railway
Chengdu is the railway transportation hub in southwestern China. Chengdu has three railway stations, including Chengdu Railway Station, Chengdu East Railway Station, and Chengdu South Railway Station. Chengdu Railway Station is the largest railway station in southwestern China and is one of the six largest railway stations in China.

Road

Chengdu has very convenient expressways and highways network connecting Chengdu and many other cities in Sichuan province and neighboring provinces. The national highways including Sichuan-Shanxi, Sichuan-Tibet, and Sichuan-Yunnan all take Chengdu as the starting point. There are 13 bus transportation centers in Chengdu with buses to many cities.
